“The best hotel that I've stayed at when visiting Thanet over the years. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Very comfortable, clean and recently refurbished rooms in interesting building. Generous breakfast. Peaceful location by the sea. Good parking. Interesting walks along the cliffs including a 20minute walk into Ramsgate.”

“We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were large and modern with very good facilities. The breakfast was lovely with a large choice on the menu. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“This was a very last minute booking and we were really pleasantly surprised by the Pegwell Bay Hotel. The room was really comfortable, nicely laid out bathroom, fluffy towels and so quiet we slept til nearly 9am on Sunday. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful. We also liked the fact that breakfast was a very reasonable optional extra - we're not big on the full English so quite often prefer to pay less for the room and do our own thing. We took the opportunity to walk round the cliff top and down into Ramsgate for our breakfast and loved it.”

“This was my second stay at the hotel, and I could not fault it for cleanliness or the quality of the food at breakfast. The bedroom furniture is modern and the room well decorated. The bathroom would not be out of place in a 4 star hotel if it were larger.”

"Wonderful location overlooking the bay, hotel was well presented and the rooms were very comfortable and extremely clean. I would definitely return next time I am visiting the Ramsgate area and would highly recommend this charming hotel"

Robert, USA

"Great location with sea views. For a 3 star hotel the room was spot on with everything you need flat screen TV, coffee making facilities, hairdryer, the staff were very accommodating and the breakfast was fab. We were all very impressed with the quality of the hotel"

Liz, Rochester

"Excellent location - brilliant views across the bay, friendly staff, classy place, clean and well kitted out."

Amy, Hampshire

"Everything was perfect. It was my birthday so we drove down for an overnight stay. We got there at 10 but knew we couldn't get into the room until 2 but the friendly receptionist said the room was ready so we were able to take our bags up before going for a walk. The breakfast the following morning was excellent as were the staff. A good meal in the Sir Stanley gray (the pub that is adjoined to the hotel by an underground tunnel). Good spot as well"

Sandra, Longfield

"Possibly one of the best 3 star hotels we have ever stayed in"

Anthony, Teesdale

Mrs. Lynch, Leicestershire.

"On arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming, we were shown to our room, which was excellent, with a view of the sea. Good tea and coffee facilities, bed comfortable and room very quiet through the night. Breakfast was really good. I would definitely stay again."

"I can't shout about you all loud enough, unfortunately a lot of brides don’t realise that regardless of the venue you choose and price you pay it’s the people behind the scenes that make it perfect for you. You have a fantastic team there... Probably the best in Thanet !!! x"

We found the Pegwell Bay in 2008 through TripAdvisor when we were looking for a place to stay whilst researching our family history in the area. It makes a fantastic base for visiting Thanet. The rooms are clean and cosy, with modern and well-equipped bathrooms, and there are always plenty of spaces in the car park. There are good choices (and generous portions!) for breakfast, and the Sir Stanley Grey pub across the road serves excellent bar meals.
We quite enjoy the location away from the town centre - peaceful and relaxing, with lovely views over the bay.
It's the staff that make the place though - always cheerful, always friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. If only more hotels had such a cheery and welcoming atmosphere ....!

Trip advisor review

From the cheerful welcome on arrival to the onward assistance on departure, there was very little to complain about and everything to be happy about. Fabulous view of the sunset over the coast from our room, quaint underground access to the pub across the road for dinner and breakfast. The room was compact but spotlessly clean; the meals good value pub food; the staff pleasant and accommodating. Pegwell Bay Hotel is a little bit out of town, so easier to stay if you have your own transport. We would definitely stay again

"Staff were most helpful, very approachable and nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel was well situated and the underground link to the function area was a nice touch. The function we attended at the hotel was excellent, great food, excellent service and first class organisation."

Peter form Fleet

"The location of the hotel and the genuine friendliness of the staff made for an enjoyable stay. The 3 night break with excellent breakfasts made for good value for money."

Booking.com review

"Our stay at the hotel was very short, however we found the staff in particular Sammy, extremely helpful and accommodating. We would stay there again were we to require overnight accommodation in Ramsgate."

Maria from Manchester

"Rooms were large and spacious, clean and freshly decorated. Whilst in the bedroom the corridors were quite with little door slamming which allowed a good nights sleep as my daughter was competing in a competition the next day. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was served hot! A lovely view from the restaurant and hope to visit again. The only negative point was not enough time spent there!."

Booking.com review

"Great Hotel. Out of main town (Ramsgate) so nice and quiet but near the beach. Walk to town was about 15 minutes. The Hotel has its own Pub and Restaurant across the road but there is also another Shepherd Neame one next door that is also great, both with sea views. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was ideal. Was able to relax. Will stay again."

Neil from Kent

"Thank your for such a lovely day, you all worked so hard for us and we will always remember it, everything was just perfect. Becca hope you enjoyed the chocolates !!! x"
